At present there are about five thousand temples in Vrndavana, and still our society, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, is constructing a huge, magnificent temple for the worship of Lord Krsna and Lord Balarama, along with Radha-Krsna and Guru-Gauranga.
Since there is no prominent Krsna-Balarama temple in Vrndavana, we are attempting to construct one so that people will be attracted to Krsna-Balarama, or Nitai-Gauracandra.
Vrajendra-nandana yei, saci suta haila sei. Narottama dasa Thakura says that Balarama and the son of Maharaja Nanda have advented Themselves as Gaura-Nitai. To propagate this fundamental principle, we are establishing a Krsna-Balarama temple to broadcast to the world that worship of Gaura-Nitai is the same as worship of Krsna-Balarama.
-- Srila Prabhupada in Śrī Caitanya Caritāmrita Madhya 16.281
When a Krishna Conscious person is elevated to a responsible position, he never becomes puffed up. Just like a tree, when over-laden with fruits, becomes humble and lower down ; similarly, a great soul in Krishna Consciousness becomes humbler than the grass and bow down like the fruitful trees because a Krishna Conscious person acts as the agent of Krishna, therefore he discharges his duty with great responsibility.
- Srila Prabhupada in his Letter to Gajendra -- Los Angeles, 27 January, 1970
Kṣamā means tolerant. Tolerant. You should not be disturbed. Suppose you are in this Kṛṣṇa conscious society. Now, you cannot expect that all the members of the society will be first-class men. How can we expect? We are collecting members of the society from all classes of men. So there may be a man in goodness, a man in the passion and a man in the ignorance. But if you think, "Oh, this man is not good. That man is not good," oh... No. You should be tolerant.
You haven't got any connection with this man or that man. You are connected with the philosophy, with the process of life, and you are connected...
Just like the same example: suppose you are on the ship. You do not find just all men to your choice. There may be different kinds of men. But what is that to you? You have to cross the Atlantic Ocean, patiently cross. Just sit down tightly on the ship and take advantage of the opportunity. That is your business. This is called kṣamā. Kṣamā means excuse and tolerant.

"Any gentleman should be a little humorous.”
- Srila Prabhupada (Letter to Kurusrestha 75-09-26)
I subscribe to the PAMHO conference 'Prabhupada Said'. HH Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja regularly sends in short anectodes or passages from Srila Prabhupada's books. I always find them inspirational and sometimes eerily relevant to what I'm doing or thinking at the time.
This one isn't particularly relevant, but is quite thought provoking ......
Badrinaraya Prabhu once heard Srila Prabhupada say:
I forgive you one time
I forgive you two times
The third time, I take off my shoe.
Srila Prabhupada even gestured by raising his arm as if with a shoe in his hand to chastise someone. But then he continued "Actually, the spiritual master is unlimitedly merciful."
Then he paused and added, "But do not take advantage."
Only Kṛṣṇa can deliver us from this material existence. Indeed, He is always trying to deliver us. Īśvaraḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ hṛd-deśe 'rjuna tiṣṭhati [Bg. 18.61]. He is within our hearts and is not at all inattentive. His only aim is to deliver us from material life. It is not that He becomes attentive to us only when we offer prayers to Him. Even before we offer our prayers, He incessantly tries to deliver us. He is never lazy in regard to our deliverance.
Therefore this verse says, bhūri-karuṇāya namo 'layāya. It is the causeless mercy of the Supreme Lord that He always tries to bring us back home, back to Godhead.
God is liberated, and He tries to make us liberated, but although He is constantly trying, we refuse to accept His instructions (sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja [Bg. 18.66]). Nonetheless, He has not become angry. Therefore He is described here as bhūri-karuṇāya, unlimitedly merciful in delivering us from this miserable material condition of life and taking us back home, back to Godhead.
- Purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 8.3.17
"What if people don't want to hear our message?" Pradyumna asked.
"The people might not understand our message, but Krsna will be pleased," Prabhupada replied.
"And that is our mission. They thought Jesus Christ's mission was stopped. They killed him. But his mission was attained. He preached three years only, but so many followers. He pleased Krsna. We must not be disappointed that no one is hearing Krsna consciousness. We will say it to the moon and stars and all directions. We will cry in the wilderness, because Krsna is everywhere. We want to get a certificate from Krsna that, "This man has done something for Me.' Not popularity. If a pack of asses says you are good, what is that? We have to please Krsna's senses with purified senses."
From Srila Prabhupada-lilamrita: A Visit to Boston, 1968
So Arjuna's position is very precarious. There is a Bengali proverb naste bose bhunkata.(?) A girl, he, she is very famous dancing girl. So it is the system... As we have introduced, the girls and ladies, they have their veil, gunthana. It is called gunthana in Indian language. So a dancing girl, when she was on the stage, she saw that so many of her relatives are there as visitors. So she began to draw the veil. So this is not required. You are a dancing girl. Now you have to dance. You cannot be shy. You must freely dance. That is your duty.
So Arjuna [...] The sva-dharma, the principle is a ksatriya's duty to fight, is to kill in fight. If you are in fight, you become sympathetic, then the same example: the dancing girl, when on the stage, if she is shy, it is like that. Why she should be shy? She must dance freely. That will be credit.
So in the warfield, you cannot be compassionate. That is not required.
Bhagavad-gita 2.36-37 — London, September 4, 1973
"I am a little temperamental," said Srila Prabhupada. "I used to use words like rascal and so on. I never compromised. They used to call it "A club in one hand and a Bhagavatam in the other.' That is how I preach."
from Srila Prabhupada-lilamrta
Child-worship is more important than deity-worship. If you cannot spend time with your child, then stop the duties of pujari. These children are given to us by Krishna. They are Vaisnavas and we must be very careful to protect them. These are not ordinary childern, they are Vaikuntha children, and we are very fortunate we can give them chance to advance further in Krishna Consciousness. That is very great responsibility, do not neglect it or be confused.
